It's length really had no bearing on it's difficulty, It's not like Baki was on the verge of losing or in any real bad shape?
Oliva: Slammed him through several walls, Slammed him on the ground, Threw him off a high elevation and crushed him with his entire body strength. . .Yet, despite all that Baki was fine he showed no signs of critical damage especially in comparisons with his other fights despite taking more damage than almost any fight in the series. He took a good Bulk of his hits barely scathed [He had a few nicks and some blood on his forehead] and all the damage he did have initially vanished once he summoned his "Oni Powers". Itagaki tried to throw some suspense here and there by showing Baki laid out on the ground at times during the end of some chapters which made it seem like he lost. But, he always turned out to be perfectly fine and in one instance it turns out he was just chillin' on the ground where he began to talk to Oliva like nothing happened.
The only real damage he took was when him and Oliva became rock 'em sock 'em robots. The damage he took was a black eye and a bloody nose like Oliva despite going through all the things I highlighted in red. . .
Oliva's durability was completely ignored and Baki pretty much punched his way to victory. To do something like that against someone as durable as Oliva is a joke. The man boasted near invulnerability and somehow Baki knocked him on his arse with just punches and kicks when he could barely even hurt him if not at all with any punches or kicks. I could understand if he decided to use a technique and exploit weak points, which worked well earlier in the fight. But, he said he completely forfeited the use of any type of technique and socked on him until he won.

*The characters that Baki has beaten before, and even those that don't even have the strength to get to fight him, still remain important characters. To say such things requires ignoring the huge load of focus on other characters done in the second and third Baki manga series.
*Disappears from the story forever doesn't describe any of the Maximum Tournament top 5 fighters. Hanayama, Jack, Retsu, Doppo, Shibukawa, etc. all still pop up more than once and actually matter in the story. Even Shinogi Kosho pops up again for god's sakes.
*Korakuen fighters do not move or shake up the story like they did before is what I mean't. Their relevance in the central plot I.E. Baki's quest to surpass his father seems all but done now. They aren't challenging Baki to reach new levels of strength or offering him new ways to get stronger or Challenging Yujiro anymore. They come and go from time to time, and the manga let's you know they get stronger. But, they aren't involved with the main major players of the Story E.G. Baki and Yujiro. They even stated that they will not fight Baki anymore and I have not seen any rematches with Yujiro. Lately they are pretty much used for the most part to gauge new opponents for Baki. New characters which are heavily hyped up and beating korakuen elites add to that hype. Only to have said new character flop because Baki can beat him with no real problem despite said character having great showings against Korakuen fighters. I find that an indication of sorts to show how they have fallen. It used to be that fighitng in Korakuen was a big deal let alone beating an elite. Now it's like nothing because the people who can do it are still easily beaten by the main chracter and in a manga where fighting ability denotes status it proves this next point. Their presence really does not move things in the central plot along as well anymore as in part one. I think their fights are more interesting than Baki's, but their impact is significantly less. They are certainly not the power houses they were way back in part one or prisoner arc of part 2. The only exception is probably Jack, but since he's a Hanma [the weakest] he's gonna get leeway since that's what the story favors. . .Hanma's
*I said they will either disappear or become irrelevant to the story. As I stated before their impact in the story has lessened significantly. Their strength isn't showcased to be as meaningful as when they first came or during the prisoner arc. Back then, they were portrayed as beast and Baki could barely beat them if not at all, they had relevance to his Baki's plot because they provided Obstacles for him to conquer. . . Is that the status Quo now?

*You can't seriously think that Yujiro was incapable of dodging rather than just taking it easy? Especially when direct blows to Yujiro's upper body didn't do any damage whatsoever. Yujiro walked out of that without even a single injury while he left Doppo for dead.

*As I showed he was bleeding and it can't be just game seeing how he had to get serious just to win. Infact, the scenario was exactly the same as Yujiro's match with Kaku.

Baki was in a whole different level before the second manga series even started as comparisons between him and Shibukawa go.
If Baki is as strong or stronger than Shibukawa according to you then Ali Jr. must be stronger than Shibukawa. Since, Shibukawa stated that he agree'd with Doppo's claim that Ali Jr. would beat Baki and he's no stranger to Baki strength seeing how he was in a tournament that Baki won and he lost. Also, when were these comparisons made between them?

Shibukawa already commented that he only lost to Ali Jr. because he wasn't taking Ali Jr seriously. The moment he did fight seriously has him pretty much stomping Ali Jr. with ease.
Ali also commented that Shibukawa was a sore loser, which he most likely is true considering Shibukawa ambushed an injured Ali Jr. and couldn't even finish him off with multiple slams while he was injured, Lol. Furthermore, The fact that he needs to take Ali jr. seriously when he's injured no less is laughable. Shibukawa clearly has the advantage here and can say whatever he wants about being superior. At the end of the day Ali still beat him fair and square
in one hit. Something a "Serious" Shibukawa could not even do to an injured Ali jr. . .LOL.
About their first fight Ali jr. showed Shibukawa mercy after he was to slow too react to his punch and proceed to talk before K.O. ing him with one punch from what seemed to be half an inch I doubt he wasn't without restraints as well. . . Never mind that Shibukawa couldn't do anything, but express surprise. Unless he was joking around still even at the point that he was being spared by Ali jr? Never mind that this is the same guy who could react to Doppo's punches which Yujiro couldn't dodge. He was also able to OHKO the same Shibukawa who took a full blow from Doppo to the face.
Finally, he's taken other fighters lightly as well, since he's an easy going man. . . and he still beat their asses. Why is this the exception all of a sudden.

Combined with Kozue's tears oh and the fact that she slept with him. He always has some BS to make him stronger, it feels like I reading Bleach. Him being healed and getting stronger is reminiscent of DBZ back when Saiyins would get stronger after recovering from near-death experiences. It's out of place in a manga like Baki.

. .What would it matter if he had that mentality? It's not like Korakuen fights are too the death anyways. Infact, the supervisors jump in for the most part when a fighter is on the verge of dying or being beaten to death. The only exception was maybe Yujiro vs Doppo where they thought Doppo was alive because he was standing. How can you have a daeth match in those kind of conditions is beyond me. Even Katsumi who fought in korakuen exclaimed that he never fought in a real fight, just matches. Having the desire to fight to the death is not neccessary in sports competitions because they aren't to the death and that's what Korakeun is a competition with rules. Granted they have less rules then other fight competitions, they have rules nonetheless. Infact, Ali's fights against the Korakuen masters are alot closer to a real fight to the death seeing how there was no one to supervise or enforce any rules and he still won. He only lost when he was ambushed by them while injured and while that is very close to what can happen in a real fight but is entirely irrelevant to his fight with Baki since they are not having a real fight. . .Just a no holds barred match.
Why would it matter if Baki is focused on not getting hit, how would that change the fact that Ali jr. could hit people that even Yujiro could or has had problems hitting? This all goes back to my problem with Baki and his random power boost.
