and message hotmil for any files you might need for free.

with all our team assembled, we will finally give you all the volumes of Baki unlike other groups that love to charge you per volume,
we will show him we can be better and work things without donations, please don't give money to us, we are a big team and we want your help too :)

I do think is a prank. The links for the MU files do exist but they are in french, the same that some guys posted here in the Baki (french) thread.

it always had high potential of being a prank. im thankful for the new Baki scanlations but i dont see why it went all boojie for the volumes of SOO after vol.16??

its a shame that ichido reichan can only be altrustic for money,he openly admitted he was only doing it for money. i feel sorry for him.

i really couldnt care about vol.32 because i would like vol.18 - 31 first.

surely its time we got a group together to do this??? we just need an english -french translator / for the older volumes and hopefully Sonikku for the newer stuff.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I'm surprised all the people who have gotten all the other volumes through wild fang haven't released them considering wild fang is no more now. What the fuck are they gonna do about it?

@ above you can get volume 18 fully translated right here.

Wow, awesome that you guys are putting out Son of Ogre. I'm currently stumbling through 19 in French which is pretty taxing, but certainly easier than doing so in Japanese for me.

Seems like you have plenty of bodies behind this, but if you need a proofreader/QC'er I'd be happy to help.

i think you may be confused, ritual scan isn't putting out Son of Ogre in english....(it was all a prank)

if you are going through the french vol.19 any chance of a script of what you are reading in english???

Oh really?

So is this another volume that got leaked out of WFP?

I would, but my French is not up to translation status, I'm just piecing bits of it together. If it's not covered on
Code:
http://sonofogre.blogspot.com/
then I'll piece togethera rough idea of what's going on if you like?

@ scabab http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O1VKP3OM french volume 20 should have 160-164

@ Drivershigh

8) excellent work Drivershigh!!!!!!!

heres how i see it ... i think WFP released SOO 1- 16 :king: , then stopped public releases  , then at some point 17 was leaked, some guy called Rice this year scanlated vol.18 himself :king: then he seems to have dissapeared, then after a year of WFP saying they were probably going to accept new members in dec 2011 they changed that to say they were selling Baki to ritualscan who would give it away for free and on christmas day they decided to fuck everyone over and stated it was a prank but released vol.32 with bogus 'english' links to french volumes  ....

then vol.30 appeared around boxing day???

so vol.19, 20 and some of 21 -which is chapters, 150 to 169 are untranslated as Soniku :king: has done 170 - 276...

so if you plan to do some loose translating for your self of the untranslated chapters / volumes, im sure that i and other english speaking people would appreciate your efforts to be posted :D even if they are not perfect - like you said - it at least gives us an idea   thanks

Thanks for the translation, that's a great work for sure.

It was said Volume 30 in English was leaked. Can someone post a link, please.

Also, i'd like to ask some question: if you read through the 183rd chapter (http://sonofogre.blogspot.com/2010/02/s ... e-183.html), you'll see such a thing:

"Compared to Biscuit Oliva who soars through the sky at an elevation of 1105.8 meters.
Hanma Yujiro is at a height of 1106.3"

There is such a small difference. Strenght comprasion? A oneshotted giant elephant, a shaking skyscraper, digging through the ground, tanks... there is no way Oliva can achieve this. what else? Oh yeah, Yujiro is stronger than Pickle who is stronger than mechas (who can tear through armored vehicles) and Oliva. And Oliva looks so tense when Ogre is nearly relaxed. From the point of Yujiro's achievements, i'd say his physical strenght is many times stronger, not 0.1%. He didn't even push his back muscules to overpower Oliva. You can see Oliva's veins but you can't see Ogre's ones (he showed them to Kaku and Baki). And as was said, Yujiro gets stronger all the time. But even before this event, it was obvious Hanma's physical strenght is much superior to Oliva's one. So how the hell are do they have a 1-percent difference? Was it even strenght comprasion? Is it their min, max, or usual muscul statement? Is it Oliva's maximum and Yujiro's minimum or normal statement? "Soars through the sky" literally means Oliva was on the ground, then used his strenght at max to rise to 1105.8 when Ogre was already at 1106.3 without rising? Or it's their maximum physical strenght but Yujiro (who is 120 kilos) can use his muscules at 1000% (don't pay attention to exact numbers, it's just an example) so he is beyond the maximum of a normal human, and Oliva (who is 150 kilos) only 80 at best?

Ogre overpowers Oliva with ease. Whole Oliva's hands are outmusculed only by Ogre's fingers. Not to mention if you wear the glove, it's harder to create such a strong grip... so Yujiro couldn't use his whole hand's power at all.

And... how can ya explain this? To be honest, i see no a 0.1% like difference. I see that Yujiro at least several times stronger than Oliva even without his demon back. It's obvious that anime's Yujiro was weakier than now. And he still was stronger than Oliva. So.... interpret this one, anyone?

And because the work I should be doing is far less interesting than manga, here is 152. Once again, thanks to TopHunter and Naturaleza for the real work scanlating this in the first place for RSF.

Also, what do people think about me posting these translations here? Are they taking up too much room in between posts? They're not the most conducive to promoting discussion about Baki/Garouden if you have to scroll for 10 seconds to refer back to a post!

Should I host the .txt files somewhere, or start a new thread (if there is a place on the boards for that)?

EDIT: 152 moved to viewtopic.php?f=15&t=945&p=263495#p263495 and updated to version 2 (minor changes, trying to be less literal in my translation).

yeah, it might be a good idea to start a new topic specifically for english translation of SOO and leave this thread for discussion.. just leave a link to it in this thread, or do the txt. file thing n post links here.

either ways good!! thanks again 8)

I'd be happy to proof-read any scripts, I have some experience of doing this for other series.

I agree with your slight confusion here proletar666, it might be explained further in Volume 33. My best guess is that at the level of power Biscuit and Yuujiro are at, it takes just the slightest different (0.5 metres in the metaphor) to overwhelm another in terms of strength. I think the difference between them is that Biscuit is portrayed as being raw power, whereas Yuujiro is more rounded (martial arts, speed, skill, technique etc), so I guess this shows that Yuujiro doesn't need any of that to beat Biscuit?

In other news, Chapter 153 is translated, same thread as the others. Enjoy.

Drivershigh, thanks for the good explanation. And thanks for the translation!

Huh, following from this fight against Pickle, i'd say post-Korakuen Jack got much stronger, the first man who did actual damage to Pickle. Nuts! I'd say he still gets beaten by Kaku, but i think he can kick Oliva's ass... he was the only man who had an actual chance of Pickle's defeat, what a shit Itagaki didn't let Pickle get closer to make Jack's ear-fucking trap working. Then he got blitzed. He was like my a second favourite character right under Yujiro. What a trash talk from Baki to such an iron-willed man, i was ready to kick Itagaki because of this  Well, good for Jack, he's still alive, hope see him again.

By the way, 282 is out: http://filepost.com/files/6ddcmm6b/%5B% ... %A9%B1.zip

Yujiro is a monster!!!!! Killing a shark by Hanayama in Scarface series was good but.... WHALES  You damn awesome bastard  Time to kick a little pissed crybaby's ass

It... it can't be like that? Not exchanging of blows, i hope. Cause i remember Ogre's punch made a mini-earthquake... if Baki wins not by technique, but in strenght contest... that has no sense at all, it's too crazy even for Baki-verse :argh:

Lol, that was a mistranslation by Sonnuki.

What yujiro says is this

Yujiro: At the end of the day, the one that put his head higher than the other in a fight, is the true victor!

Olivia: Ow yeah....I knew it...

Narrator: Before they started the match, Olivia's head was at his normal 6'2 ft high... But now, Yujiro made him lower his head almost 2ft down from him.

So basically, Olivia is nothing compared to Yujiro. I mean if you just look at the fight, it's all clear.

Why not ? He beat Oliver with strenght only and he is certainly more powerfull since that. So he could do it. I believe 8)

Why not? Cause his best combos can't do real damage to Yujiro, that's why! What i mean is, look at Pickle's tooth. Baki punched and broke it. Look at Pickle's blood during his fight against Baki. But Baki's knee strike (stronger than a simple punch) to Yujiro's head did nothing but falling! And Yujiro tanked his 3 superfast kicks only to show Baki can't do more than a small bleeding from Yujiro's lower lip. Yujiro is tough as hell. Remember his absurdly tight "diamond skin", he cut a glass table just by finger. And Yujiro is like unKOable. He was falling for milliseconds but it was such a short period of time that Ogre couldn't even fall properly.

Oliva is nothing to Pickle, and Pickle is nothing to Yujiro. Martail arts? Well, Xiao Lee, hypersonic attacks, aikibudo, etc. Baki knows many great techniques. If he wins by them, it won't look so... surreal. But since it's strenght contest, Ogre is The King. Baki can't even hold his fist clenched against 2 of Yujiro's fingers. And Yujiro easily tanked Hanayama's hand-crushing grip (it was said in Scarface his grip is comparable to water pressure at 10000M deep; it's like 1000 atm or nearly 1 ton per sq. cm.; just remember his strenght match against Pickle; Hanayama is physically weaker in general but his grip as strong as Pickle's one... and Yujiro tanked it unhurted without breaking a sweat, i know it was cut in Funimation dub but you can watch the original : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... jobc#t=49s ).

If we remember Yujiro's fight against Kaku, Yujiro lost much blood... the reason? Kaku absorbed Ogre's punches and returned them right to the Ogre who couldn't stay at one place first and was sent flying... but then he used his back and tanked them laughing. So he is capable to withstand punches equal to his own ones. And his own punches make Pickle and Baki both look like some random clowns.

If Baki beats Yujiro in strenght, it's too crazy.

The whole fight theory since nearly half of NGB is to put fact about putting facts about the capacity of some character, and watch them being completely destroyed by the current flavor-of-the-arc/baki.
The author just don't control his own story, or either just throw a d100 at each beginning of each arc to know what he'll do next.
The 2 remaining convicts, turned into a farce by baki just because he gained the "power of love" <3. Ali jr, got his ass handed to him in the dickiest fashion possible in succession by Shibukawa, doppo and baki.
Just re-read NGB, and what facts about oliva, like training by pulling a chinook flying. Sure, baki totally just don't need technique or whatever to beat him head on in a contest of strenght : DDDDDD

If baki could pull it against oliva, why not against the ogre (for about 5 seconds, then he'll get serious and destroy everyone in his usual fashion).

He needs his demon back at least, anyway, he still got oneshotted by imaginry Yujiro after the Pickle fight... and Baki owned Oliva in a cruel fight... and Yujiro owned Oliva in one easy punch in a softer glove without a single effort. Not to mention Baki himself said sth like "if i could win just by charging you, i'd have done it from the start". Ogre's punches are too hard. Yujiro is still stronger, faster and tougher than Baki. I bet he can easily kill Oliva, Jack and Hanayama powerhouses in one full-strenght punch despite of their muscules. Maybe Pickle too.

And holding a chinook helicopter is nothing to this: http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/8117/67603686.jpg

Ogre curdstomps Pickle, no doubts.

Oliva isn't that poweful, he was owned by Shibukawa Gouki. I bet Rahon Shobun wouldn't block Pickle's attack. The difference between Oliva and Ogre is huge. Oliva isn't a fighter, he's rather a muscular clown-like bodybuilder. His strenght and durability is too little to Ogre's one, his speed is even more inferior. He's closer to other fighters as Doppo, Retsu as example, not to Ogre.

I read this "power of love" thing. Yeah, a hentai manga volume... that's was lol. Not a big deal since even Gaia owned Sikorsky and Motobe owned Yanagi. I think Baki just understimated them for the first time. Speck is a better match for Baki.

Yeah even though Speck VS Hanayama probably was the best fight in NGB, I was so sad that Baki never got to fight Speck himself.

And regarding NGB vol 15.5. I had the same reaction at first but then I kinda got hooked on the whole concept of reflecting "Fighting and Sex", like destroying/pleasing of the human body. That made it seem like Itagaki at least tried to make something other than just a hentai imo...
With that exception, Im really not too fond of the whole "cute" realtionship with Kozue, but it does serve a purpose after all, and I guess its partly to show the contrast in the managing of women by Baki and Yuujiro.. Yuujiro seem to think of them solely as a reproductive tool while Baki is more humane and "love" oriented.. Yuujiro is such an animal, his definitely the star of the manga imo

And lastly, regarding the whole discussion of comparing fighters, I too, do believe that its not dispayed in the most convincing way. I know its not really constructive critisism but imo there should have been at least one more "part/season" of the series, between GB--NGB or NGB--SoO, in order to make Baki develop as a fighter even more, cause I think the whole plot went just a little too fast from at least NGB to SoO..
I love the fact of Baki being the ever inferior underdog to his father/predecessor Yuujiro no matter how strong he gets.. And that statement in itself kinda breaks a little too easy considering its only been a couple of fights since Yuujiro handed Baki´s ass to him for the latest time..

I still love it though! Im just a nit-picky asshole..

A chinook can lift up to 27000 lb, a triceratops weight is between 6 -12 tons. I'm not gonna say "oliva is stronger than pickle" and stuff like that, it wasn't even the point of my previous post, but i think raw-strenght wise, pickle and oliva are in the same league. Lifting a triceratops or dragging a chinook towards him should be roughly the same thing for them.

Not a serious fight, not even a fight. I'm pretty sure he can curbstomp gouki the same way jack did, oliva isn't a moron, if he actually tried to do more than trolling judo, aikido and gouki by extension. But yet again, wasn't the point of my post.

Agreed, it was probably the best one. :)
