ScarFace is starting to heat up as well. Hanayama escapes from the hospital after having Dr. Kureha perform emergency brain surgery. He then proceeds to practically massacre the okama midgets men. He punches Mr. Jihad(The indian sniper that head shots Hanayama) right out of the building. Hanayama takes a few rounds to his body as well.

I really feel sorry for Hanayama here. He's always seems to be getting in some kind of trouble.

Well as for insight as to whats happening. That okama midgets goal was to get Hanayama's blood. Apparently they are looking for a "mark of immortality" within his blood sample. It looks like they're also researching Hamna Yujiro's hair samples.

They are probably interested in his genetic makeup. Well I'm guessing they're going around collecting samples of extraordinary strong people and collecting their DNA. Planning to compare the samples and see what they have in common and identifying it's meaning.

(I think I've played the MGS series a little too much...)

As for recent exploits the T-Rex kid that got his gout cured by Hanayama confronts the okama midget. Looks like he's out to avenge Hanayama. Rex has an insane body build but has the mind of an invalid child.

Apparently this okama midget is also called "Grand Master". He supposedly has many disciples within the dark underworld. He also seems to worship Yujiro like some sort of satanic god. I don't know if Yujiro knows him personally, or even knows what he's trying to accomplish with his DNA.

Well, with the events unfolding before us. Let's watch in awe as to what happens!

Hello i am new here and i wanted to ask something.

This is the only thread i know of that is still active and talking about Baki.

I recently read all of New Grappler Baki and the 1st 98 chapters of Son of Ogre.

Ive seen several people here translating chapters up to 140 but these chapters are scattered about.

So where can i read chapters 99 onwards, in english, with scans, without downloading anything?

I've read chapter 147. There really isn't much to translate here. The horrifying massacre speaks for itself. Thinking about this chapter there isn't really a need to wait for a HQ release.



Let's see what Jack does next. The next chapter could be what we've been waiting for. Jack will surpass his heart-set limits and become even more powerful.

On another note, Pickles way of punching Jack to death is reminicient of Jacks way of fighting. Pickle must of picked it up from Jack himself and used it against him. Poor Jack.

scabab: They're english translations done by others if you search this forum. Another group besides WFP was doing translations for awhile, can't remember who right now. I don't know when WFP will release any new chapters, sorry. Personally I don't concern myself with finding translators much, since I'm capable of reading japanese myself. Good Luck.

I haven't read the raw for 147 yet, can't find it... But by the comments it seems he is gone.

There's always a chance for a comeback in this type of manga. When I saw him get hit I figured he was done for, but the way he's lying on the edge of the arena kind of makes me think otherwise. Also, IMO he didn't get as big a chance to shine as Katsumi or Retsu. It just feels like he should get one more shot.

I'm not sure what Pickle's doing in the last panel, seems like he might start cheering like he did when he beat Baki, maybe giving Jack the chance for a suprise comeback?

Those recent pictures Donfla posted look pretty interesting.





From what I can see there's tears running down on Pickles face. Then on the next page Pickle start's getting a cold sweat. With the japanese Onomatopoeia "Kachi Kachi" which means he's tensing up. And on the top panel without isn't completely shown, that looks like the broken wood work where Jack was laying.

From what I can deduce. Pickle finishes his victory dance after he practically knocks Jack. He starts to approach Baki but notices sometime odd with Jack. He turns around and sees a Jack with steroid induced overdeveloped back muscles.

Let's see if my prediction comes true with the next RAW.

Looks more like sweat than tears to me, and you can tell it's a surprised/shocked look.

I guess the small picture comes first: he hears something behind him (small picture), turns around and is stunned (big picture) to see Jack has gotten up.

In fact the pics posted above are from the magazine that will be officially released next thursday (some guys in Japan get their hand on it many days before the official release date).
And we do have a decent raw (for translation) on wednesday (Heiji-sama's Cam raws) so one day before the release of the magazine.
Decent raws for scanlations come 1-4 days after the official release.
Even if it seems to be late, not all the series of the shounen champion or others magazines are regulary scanned as Baki is, so yes yes it's pretty popular ^^

Exactly what I was saying about that panel Silviu, even showed it to another friend of mine who's slightly familiar with Baki, and he said "Is that a face in the wood?"

So it wasn't just my imagination? I suspected I saw Ogre eyes on the sides of the broken wood piece.

Can't wait to see Jacks appearance, Jack with overdeveloped back muscles that take the shape of an Ogre, and the lower half of his face is missing. Not to mention all his teeth got knocked out. Hell, if I saw something like that I would be sweating beads as well.

Who knows what we might see next, Maybe Pickle will eat the Ogre back. Might be bad for him though, since Jack takes a crazy amount of steroids.

I just noticed something as well when Jack got launched towards the wood block, the wood wasn't completely broken, it was just bent inwards.

Jack has definitely gotten the Ogre power. Even so, I have a feeling he still won't win.

Well I sure feel like an ass. I was so sure of myself. I just finished reading 148. Jack is knocked out cold with no Ogre back. I was right about Pickle crying though.

Pickle was about to eat Jack but he noticed that Jack is poisonous. Seems he tried to eat a hornet when he was a kid, and suffered the consequences. Pickle's instincts must of picked up that eating Jack will poison him.

Well the guys takes incredible amounts of high concentration steroids. Anybody else would be long dead by now.

Well at least he didn't die. Who knew steroids would actually SAVE his life instead of killing him?

Guess it's up to Baki or Yujiro now... I don't see any other Korakuen fighter confident/suicidal enough to try fighting Pickle.

Damnit I hope they let Gaia fight Pickle, it would be an interesting fight.

Well at the end of the chapter there's is sort of a cliff hanger remark.

"Sono toki da ta" - roughly translated it means, "at that time" or "it was at that moment" doesn't describe what is exactly happening at "that time" but I noticed Jack's head, it looks to me he's starting to regain consciousness.

Maybe this fight isn't over? Jack might still pull out the Ogre's back.

It's just like Baki's fight with Oliva. Baki was down for a few seconds before his body responded to Olivas attacks. Probably for a few seconds. Then he woke up with the Ogre's back.

Baki was on the floor and his brain released endorphins, which triggered something inside him. Maybe that's happening to Jack right now?

Well, we'll just have to wait till the next chapter.

Oni muscles haven't been completely ruled out since Jack is still fighting, kinda makes me look at Baki in shame again, his shitty devil may care attitude is really pissing me off, while all the supporting characters are giving everything they got to take out Pickle.

Wow I just read 149 (the whole thing).

From what I read I can say Pickle's perception of danger is highly honed. At first I thought he left Jack alone because his instincts made him think eating Jack would be poisonous. I thought so because he suddenly compared Jack to a wasp. That wasn't the case.

He compared them because even after death they would in some shape attack him. He ate the wasp and he suffered incredible pain from the poison.

"There are thing's that don't die even when you kill them"

Looks like even after he lost consciousness his body was still able to attack. Through unconscious muscle memory he would've shoved both his middle fingers into Pickles ears causing damage to his brain stem.

Jack is a damn monster. I'll translate both chapters properly when a decent RAW is released.

Jack dopesn't need corny oni back muscle plot device, he has heart and even if he loses he will always remain in my eye's the best fighter in the series history. I hope more people fight pickle before Baki beats him.

I actually hope Baki goes ahead and fights pickle so we can get to you know, the MAIN fight of this series?

From what I've heard. Pickle was created so we could see what Yujiro is really made of.

There's no telling what could happen from now on. Baki might not get to fight him at all.

Baki thinks by fighting Pickle he'll find the power to overcome his father. Seems like he's reached a wall. There's really no more fighters to fight in the series for the sake of getting stronger. He's already become so strong, who else is there?

He's beaten Oliva. This guy had beyond super human strength. Who else is there to fight except Yujiro himself?

Pickle was bascially inserted into the story to create a challenging opponent for Baki. Also, it let them flesh out the side-characters a bit more. It's pretty obvious he's ultimately not going to replace Yujiro as the main opponent, and is going to lose to Baki sooner or later.

Seems Jack isn't done yet and returns for more action.
