I've read 145, I'll post a translation when a decent RAW is released. I'd like to release a translation of when the fight starting though, so we can all understand what's going on. So here is a translation of 141! Enjoy.



Alright, I'll give a little insight into this chapter. Apparently Jack wanted to see which of their "fangs" are stronger. That's why he practically lip locks Pickle. Which leads to his face getting eaten.

The kanji used for "I want to meet" is also an odd type. "逢う" which is used in dramatic situations. You use in instances where you see your girlfriend where love is involved. I guess Jack is practically obsessed with Pickle. It's just like Retsu Kaio, practically in love with Pickle's strength.

As for insight into 145, it's just as I said on the last post. Pickle is pissed Jack chewed his ear off. Well maybe now the Dino Boy will understand human pain. IMO he got what was coming to him. Sure, I understand eating dinosaurs... but eating Retsu Kaio? Biting of Katsumi's arm? Eating Jacks face? Maybe Pickle will now understand the pain of being eaten.

All the while poor Baki. He practically got kicked unconscious and wanted a rematch, but everyone keeps beating him to the punch. Katsumi, now Jack. I think it's gonna be awhile till they face off. From what I can see Pickle is slowly starting to understand human concepts by fighting these grapplers. Maybe when he develops more as a character he'll fight against the more prominent fighters(yujiro or baki).

I can only pray for Jack now. Dig deep and bring out the Ogre hiding under that back!

Btw, if someone has chapter 140 can they post it. Usually I keep all the chapters released by for some reason I don't have chapter 140. If someone posts it I would appreciate it. I can't translate a chapter I don't have.

I definitivly understand what you mean when you say that Itagaki's way of speaking is weird . I figured it out when I started long time ago .

He 's like trying to put some kind of old japanes terms . Even a native japanes people doesn't speak this way anymore .

The most difficult part ,for me, is to catch the subject of main caracter : sometimes it takes me a will to know who ' is speaking ....

I've planed to translate from Baki SOO 5 to BAKI SOO 10.
But sometime I' m really lost searching for the right words or terms ,
So if you mind I wondering if I can bother you ...^^

You totally hit the nail on the head. Somethings I just don't know how to go about phrasing the translation. There are times when the conversation just goes along without ANY subject being mentioned till the last page(it creates dramatic tension). Just adjectives and verbs describing what their looking at via context. It's hard translating those types of sentences line by line.

Some japanese characters have deeper meaning behind them too, usually portraying some sort of idealism or have double meanings.

Usually to find out who's speaking I try to recognize the characters speech pattern. Pickle for example uses "Osu" to refer to himself and other males. Which is pretty unorthodox if you ask me.

Sometimes there's no characters speaking at all. Just floating narration in square boxes.

That said I don't mind helping out once in awhile. If you need a second opinion on a translation I'm totally cool with that.

As for chapter 140. I spend some time yesterday translating the whole thing but firefox crashed at the last second! Once I get over the shock I'll do it over again and post it.

It was really strange at the begining ....

Page 4 : I didn't know if it was Pickle or the narrator who was speaking about the feeling of Pickle ....

I was totaly lost and I was wondering like " But who the hell is speaking I thought ".

So finaly I took the decision to take the position of the narrator :

Tophunter : The most important thing on this chapters is to know exacltly when the narrator is talking . So I think The narrator first,describs pickle' is feeling .

After that page 5 : I think it's Pickle Thought : ( It's so good ....It's so good to be here )

Here's chapter 140, I'll post 145 right after completing Jack's encounter with Pickle.

Well I did say I would translate 145 when a decent RAW is released. I'm trying to be the sort of guy to commits to something when I say I will. So here it is!~

I had to read the chapter a few times to understand what the hell is happening, I'll give it my best shot.

If you didn't understand my last translation(145) I'll post some of my insight into the story.

btw, donfla, thx for the RAW.

I'm sure you guys have been above ground or below ground. Where the pressures different on some levels. Your ears pop and such. In those type of places when it's quiet you can hear a sort of silent echo. It kinda sounds like air moving slowly. It's hard to explain. But in this chapter Pickle understands his ear is missing because of that silent echoing.

Because the echo sound is different in each ear he knows something is wrong. He deducts what he's holding is his ear, even without a mirror. He doesn't even know what a mirror is anyway.

hunter: As for the baby and mother comparison, it's pretty straightforward. A baby doesn't understand words but understands her heart. Just like we read peoples expressions and the "air" they give off.

For example when you hit on a girl you read her expressions. If her shoulders are crossed and she's backing away then she's not into you. Even though she didn't say anything. But if she's attentive and her shoulder are pointing at you she's into you. You read her body language and facial expressions. Same sort of logic.

The author is trying to compare those feelings to Jack and Pickle. They understand each other without the use of words. A little odd though, the author must write poetry.

I don't really understand what kind of movements Pickle is making myself. It must be some crazy fast movement that Jack couldn't follow with his eyes.

I can't believe it, he even dodged that crazy fist from floor to chin punch. That punch sent Baki practically flying when they fought.

That said, can't wait for the next chapter!

Saw this topic from a board, and had to register... Wow, I don't see how Jack is going to survive this fight. Pickle is gonna kill him and nobody can stop it.

From what I can gather Pickle is somehow avoiding Jack's attacks. We'll probably find out how in chapter 146.

All I can say is ... Jack is a damn monster. He's only lost fights to the other Hanma's. He's never lost a fight against anyone else.

He practically beats Garland senseless with his brute force.

He takes down a Polar Bear weighing over 600lbs.

He bites Shibukawa Gouki to defeat.

He beats the snot out of Mohummed Ali Jr.

This guy is probably one the the strongest beings walking the planet in the Baki universe.

Those being above his strength are pretty few.
I'd say: Hanma Yujiro, Hanma Baki, Kaku Kaio, and Biscuit Oliva
being able to beat him.

He has incredible fighting sense as well. Even mastering Aiki during his fight his Gouki.

In this fight hopefully he will vomit all the steroids again, and be left with a clean body. This time he actually ate meals so he won't become skin and bones like his fight against Baki. I think when that happens there's a chance he'll start showing some real strength.

Cmon Jack show me those back muscles!

I stated before that Jack might loose all his limbs but after reading the translation i think Pickle will probably take out an eye or two.

Just to make him feel the difference he himself is experiencing.

Wonder if the doctors will reattach Pickle's ear.

I just read 146 and I could say for sure Jack's in a lot of trouble. We have Pickle practically bouncing off the walls, and Jack starts praying to god.

To think there was this much of a speed difference between them.

I think the only two people who even stand a chance against him are Baki and Yujiro. Baki managed to defeat a T-Rex via his real shadow boxing skill. He didn't come out unscathed after the fight, but Pickle is shown killing T-Rex's without any injuries at all, not even the slightest bleeding.

Still that's pretty amazing on Pickle's part. Weighing so much and being able to move so damn fast.

I'll translate it for everybody once a decent quality RAW is released. Till then!@

I think Jack might make one more comeback. Generally speaking whoever seems to be losing in one chapter gets the upper hand in the following chapter. Also Katsumi and Retsu were given the time to shine before they were defeated, so jack will probably get one more move in. (maybe Ogre-face back? If jack doesn't get it here he probably never will.)

Now that Baki is present at the arena, he's bound to be the next person that fights Pickle, unless Yujiro suddenly shows up again.

True. The fights pretty much just started. Jack's not gonna lose so easily. He's the type to go out fighting even if you break both his arms.

If I may be so bold to make a prediction. I say Jack does manage to use the Hanma's blood line ability, even if it's just for a small moment. Just like Baki pulled it out only for a moment against him. However he'll probably end up losing anyway.

Pickle will probably spare his life for some reason. Maybe he'll notice he's the offspring of Yujiro or some other reason. Jack just got reintroduced into the Baki story so I doubt he'll get cut out and not reappear for a lengthy period of time.

When the times come's we'll here this line again:

Well there it is Chapter 146.

Pickle is jumping around and Jack couldn't even follow his movements with his eyes. He traveled 20 meters in an instant. That has to be some insane speed.

So basically Pickle's speed and agility are just too fast for dinosaurs to even keep up with him.

Jack can outrun Polar bears but is no where near that speed.

Odd. It's already time for at least LQ pics of 147 to show up. Must know what happens.

I doubt even this this is enough to stop Jack. Most of the main characters in Grappler Baki can take way more damage than in reality. See Speck VS Hanayama for example. I'm pretty sure Jack would keep going even without a jaw.

Hopefully, this pressure will give Jack what he needs for his Ogre muscles to show. Or he may very will end up killed by Pickle.

My God... Jack's jaw is practically shattered. If this keep up his whole skull will be shattered. The bone segment between his eyes is even starting to crack. Can Baki just stand there and watch while Jack is getting killed? I know I couldn't.

Personally Jack is one of my preferred characters. I rather he not die, nor get permanently injured or impaired.

In the fight with Oliva, Baki reached a new level of consciousness which brought out his Ogre muscles. But to even get that far he got beaten up pretty badly, which triggered an endorphin release. Baki had the body makeup to withstand his blows until his latent powers where brought out.

After seeing that pic, can Jack even survive that long??!!

Dr. Kureha has his work cut out for him, hopefully he can repair the damage to his face.

Hanayama got his face practically destroyed when he faced off with Speck. He must of had reconstructive surgery.

Jack has an incredible threshold for pain and bodily harm.

Pushing himself to the extreme leading to muscle overheating and overwork. Withstanding the excruciating pain that came with his steroid use. The drugs caused his body to go through extreme changes within a short time. Fighting till his body rejects the drugs itself and vomiting all of it.

Getting his neck bitten off by Yujiro and getting his skull slammed to the floor. Surviving this, he even takes surgery upon himself more then 5 times. Breaking down his bones one by one. This must have been an insane amount of pain.

This man has an insane amount of willpower.

I'm a little disappointed that he uses drugs again. He should have tried to gain strength by eating correctly and fighting real fights like Baki has.

I really hope his body rejects the drugs and goes into Ogre overdrive. If not Jack's a goner.
