^Not yet, I've talked to tophunter and he's talked about getting some chaps translated, there was a guy on ritual who translated chaps for us but he's kinda disappeared, was hoping dre was still following this thread, as we could really do well with knowing whats going on, but by the pics there's not too much progress being made, but it'd still be nice to have trans, if only I knew japanese :/

Reading current chapters it seems Retsu is heading to a boxing gym. Not surprised, during Baki's fight with Pickle he made many references to boxing theory and fights. He probably saw an opportunity to improve.

Well - look forward to more translations. Which I'm writing at the moment.

Needless to say I'm not really enjoying translating about the anatomy of testicles. Damn you Itegaki.

I'm thinking of starting something to scanlate the Baki series myself. I need someone how can do it at a good pace.

Just out of curiosity compared to the other people online who do it do you think I'd fair better? I'm asking you peps who've read my Baki translations a while back now.

I'm thinking of something like I translate a volume, and someone donates 1$ for the volume. Which I release for free like a month later anyway. What do my fellow peers think of this?

^Would gladly opt for that, and I'd think you'd do pretty well compared to the real ogre so to speak, although I don't claim to have any kind of mastery of japanese, there has been some "translations" by that other group that had me scratching my head, as well as the garbage english given on more than one occasion. (I'd love for one of the cult to try to harrass me like they apparently did to tophunter)

Well it looks like we have conflicting views on who won. (Baki vs Pickle)

Retsu believes since the Pickle had an opening to end Baki's life, Pickle won.

Hanayama thinks because Pickle betrayed his own beliefs, Baki won.

Yujiro mentions to Oliva that the one who climbs to greater heights at the conclusion of a bout in the winner. I think Baki gained greater "height".

and most importantly the 2 combatants.

Looking at Pickle after he threw Baki because he was afraid of losing the straight on fist fight. He looks really sad to me.

Pickle up until now has always been dancing with his fist up when he gains a victory. However, what we see is him obviously regretting what he just did. Going to a high building to look down upon everything. He is obviously reflecting on what he just did.

A challenger who was cornering him offered him a chance to win by frontal assault, then he becomes afraid and in the middle of the fight and uses a technique. This is obviously a betrayal the Baki(who was winning to challenge him) and himself(A warrior who always used his power to win)

As for Baki he seems depressed as well, his expression is obviously not a man who stands victorious. He did get KO'd after all, if even for 2 minutes or so.

Baki got KO'd, but Pickle betrayed his self beliefs to win out of fear of his enemy.

What do you guys think?

I'm leaning towards Baki. Pickle is shown throughout the series to have primal insight and a sense of danger. His instincts probably told him if he keeps pushing Baki, something bad is going to happen. So in the moment of fear he used a technique to KO him.

I think he was afraid of Baki's abnormal back muscles appearing.

I thing Baki won the fight .

To knock down Baki and to finish up the fight , I really think that Pickle had to put his nose to the grindstone . Baki humiliated him all along this fight .

Maybe it was the first time that he had to face such a challenger. And ...Well , He's been through hell in it .

I think Baki feel upset . He is just disappointing of himself . He wont have a single chance against his father .

i belive pickle won but in a way baki won more becuase he grew during the fight while pickle almost lost himself

FOr those of you who have read up to chapter 185, I have to ask you. What do you think happens to Pickle.

Even after all that stupid voting to put him back to slip, Pickle escapes easily

The chapter left us with such vague wording as well

"Pickle, sekai wo warai. Tokyo he kieru"

that comes to somethig like:

Laughing at the world, he leaves Tokyo.

Does this mean he's still on the loose in the world? Who knows? Maybe he wants to know more about the modern world and travels about now.

As for the most recent chapters, Retsu beats up that stupid boxing champ with a counter punch, preceded by allusion and foreboding by the coach and onlookers. Retsu does Kenpo pratice in the gym, which gets the coach angry at him. Retsu replies that he'll do the normal boxing exercises if the coach can bring a boxer that can defeat him.

(haha like there's somebody like that, Retsu can practically punch through mountains)

As for Baki he seems to be interested in Katsumi for some reason.

Katsumi after losing his right arm steadily develops his own 1 arm fighting style.

We'll see if this leads to a fight or not.

As for my next chapter onwards from 186, they're just short filler chapters. Nothing to be excited about really.

I just have to say, I'm not that fanatic about Kozoe. Especially her distaste in fighting and Baki's lifestyle. I think Baki could've done alot better.
